Bizspace takes over Sugar Mill Business Park

OFFICE provider Bizspace has taken over the management of two additional centres, bringing its total number of sites across Yorkshire to 20.

Bizspace provides flexible business space and already has accommodation in 110 locations nationwide.

Now the company has added a further two business centres to its portfolio – Sugar Mill Business Park in Leeds and Team Valley Business Centre in Gateshead.

Bizspace has taken over Sugar Mill Business Park from its parent company Highcross. The former sugar refinery includes a range of office accommodation with 24 hour access, an on-site management team, car parking and meeting and conference room facilities.

The company says its expansion suggests an increasing number of businesses are looking for flexibility when it comes to finding commercial property to rent.

Its business model allows firms to take on units without signing long-term fixed leases. Instead, customers are able to sign a single page licence agreement for their chosen unit and move in on the same day.

Companies do not have to commit to a set length of time and if their needs change, they can move to larger or smaller units.

Gareth Evans, Bizspace’s managing director, said flexibility was vital for businesses in the uncertain economic climate.

“We have found the flexible business space model has been very important in helping businesses to grow during the economic crisis.

“Many companies today, particularly SMEs and start-ups, do not want to commit themselves to expensive long-term leases, which they may find themselves unable to keep up with.

“Our flexible and affordable rates allow companies to rent high-quality accommodation which suits their current needs with the freedom of changing their unit whenever they feel they need more or less space. We hope that the increase in availability of flexible accommodation will mean fewer companies will collapse because they cannot afford the rent.”

In the Yorkshire area Bizspace has properties providing flexible term office space, workshops, industrial space, storage and meeting rooms throughout Leeds, Bradford, Hull, Sheffield, Barnsley, Dewsbury, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield and Wath-Upon-Dearne.
