York Guildhall set for transformation

THE medieval York Guildhall is set to be transformed into a multi-million pound digital media and arts hub.

The Council moved out of the historic Guildhall earlier this year and now senior councillors have given the go-ahead for a major structural survey to draw up a business plan and assess the building to pave the way for the emerging technology sector.

The Council has made a decision to allocate £400,000 from the authority’s £1.4m Economic Infrastructure Fund to ensure the future of the building.
