Coffee and biscuit connoisseurs join forces

TWO Yorkshire companies have joined forces to launch a new range of premium food products for the UK coffee shop sector.
Batley-based bakery company – The Miniature Bakery – has chosen Huddersfield-based Cooper’s Coffee as the national distributor for its range of products.
The product range includes biscuits, cakes and chocolates.
Each product is hand-baked by a group of artisan bakers and chocolatiers using natural organic ingredients.
The Soil Association approved products include miniature Chocolate Snaps, Chocolate Meringues and Chocolate Viennese.
The range is already proving a big hit with retailers including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Harrods.
The Miniature Bakery was founded in 2007 by a group of food enthusiasts.
The chairman of The Miniature Bakery is Malcolm Little who was previously chairman of Youngs Bluecrest and chief executive of United Biscuits.
Initially working from a small kitchen in the world famous Batley Variety Club and supplying just a few select outlets, The Miniature Bakery has moved to a larger dedicated bakery which opened in June.
Marcus Hanson, marketing director of The Miniature Bakery said: “We wanted to create a partnership with a like-minded, local company that understands quality, innovation and brand so Cooper’s Coffee was the perfect fit. Our products aim to fuse continental patisserie and confectionery with anglo-saxon tastes and textures to create a more sophisticated product in line with the coffee being served in the UK today. We feel that our range gives coffee shops the opportunity to offer a premium snack product that perfectly complements the quality of their coffee.”
