BHP appoints new partner to head up Leeds office

CHARTERED accountants Barber Harrison & Platt (BHP) has appointed partner Mike Jackson to head up its office in Leeds.

Having previously grown a practice from £3m turnover to an excess of £7m, Mr Jackson recently headed up the accounting and business advisory group of a national firm’s Yorkshire offices, as well as being the main contact within Yorkshire for Professional Practices.

Mr Jackson also headed up the local Not for Profit Group and acted as audit partner to a large number of charity and education clients, including assisting a number of schools with their conversion to Academy status. He was one of the first to acquire the Institute’s recognition by attaining the Diploma in Charity Accounting.

He said: “I am looking forward to being part of the team and helping to grow BHP in Yorkshire, making it the most well respected firm for owner managed businesses, professional practices and not for profit organisations, as well as the most desirable place to work in Yorkshire for accountants wanting to stay within private practice.”

BHP’s managing partner John Warner said: “I am looking forward to working closely with Mike as we develop our Leeds and North Yorkshire practice and continue to grow our firm across the region.”
