Firm commits to region

FIRE protection equipment manufacturer Aqua-Mist is reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region by doubling the amount of space it occupies at Calder Park in Wakefield.

Aqua-Mist, which has been based at Calder Park since its inception back in 2000, has signed up at the development for a further 10 years, expanding its 2,500 sq ft presence to more than 5,250 sq ft.

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Gladman Developments by commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) and Eddisons.

Adam Varley, head of office agency at LSH’s Leeds office, said: “Aqua-Mist’s decision to remain at Calder Park is fantastic news.

“As an agent, it is always pleasing when an existing occupier reaffirms its commitment to a location. Not least of all because it means that our marketing strategy has been pitched at the right level, but also because it underlines the quality and success of the developments we are instructed on.”

Gladman Developments is speculatively developing a further 19,070 sq ft of offices on the site.

Paul Roberts, sales and lettings manager at Gladman Developments, said: “The level of new enquiries we are receiving for the scheme has been encouraging, which has provided us with the confidence to start building on site again.

“Of the five buildings we are speculative constructing, two are already under offer and we have strong interest in the remaining buildings.

“Once these deals have completed, we will be in the very fortunate position of mobilising in preparation for phase two of Mariner Court, which will include a further 19,500 sq ft of space across six buildings, ranging from 2,250 sq ft to 5,250 sq ft.”
