Appointments: Clarion; Irwin Mitchell; Langleys

LEEDS law firm Clarion has appointed Michael Gregory as an associate in its six-strong family team.
Gregory’s previous experience includes working as head of department at Ronald Fletcher Baker in London for two years.
He was also an associate at Silverman Sherliker, a locum solicitor for a variety of central London practices and latterly he spent six months as a consultant at a practice in central Sao Paulo, Brazil, which specialised in family law.
He has worked with Clarion on a temporary basis for the last four months and has now been appointed to a permanent position.
Gregory is an experienced family lawyer who specialises in modest to high net worth financial cases as well as matters involving children, often with an international and complex jurisdiction dimension. He has a particular interest in non-marital and same sex cases and has advised extensively in this area.

THE Sheffield office of law firm Irwin Mitchell has recruited real estate solicitor Kate McGoverne from Nabarro.
McGoverne, who has almost five years of post-qualification experience in commercial property law, acts for both public and private sector clients.
Her experience includes all areas of asset management work, with a particular emphasis in retail and both acquisitions and disposals of larger property portfolios.

A GROUP of York solicitors are celebrating promotions this summer.
Sheelagh Coles in the childcare team at Langleys has been promoted to partner, while Laura Collins, an insurance specialist, joins the ranks of senior associate.
Also in the insurance team, Helen Pegelow and Sean Riley were promoted to associate, along with colleagues Katherine Sinclair (employment) and Laura Sargeant (childcare).
