Appointments: Barclays; Elevation Recruitment; NatWest

SIX young people from Yorkshire are among the Barclays apprentice graduates this year.
In total, 41 apprentices completed the Barclays apprentice scheme and graduated from the programme at a ceremony held at Barclays head office in Canary Wharf, London.
The group are now guaranteed permanent jobs with Barclays having spent a year with the bank gaining the experience they need to help them with their on-going careers.
Kath Myers, Barclays retail network regional director, said: “The graduates have all worked extremely hard and we have been very impressed by their commitment and diligence.
“Following the success of our programme we are now looking forward to hiring more apprentices from across Yorkshire, so they too can experience the benefit that an apprenticeship can bring.”
The Yorkshire apprentices are Connor Fowles from South Yorkshire and Asim Hussain, Chloe Dodgson, Ciara Ainley, Lauren Baker and Megan Harrison who are all based in West Yorkshire. All the graduates attained a Level 2 certificate in Providing Financial Services.
Barclays started recruiting apprentices in April 2012 under a major programme focusing on the quality of apprenticeships. The graduation ceremony comes as Barclays welcomes its 1000th apprentice to the scheme.
