Hungry CitySprint snaps up UK Express

SAME day delivery giant CitySprint has bought Yorkshire courier firm UK Express.
The announcement marks the fourth acquisition London-based CitySprint has made this year as it snaps up Leeds-based UK Express’s customers in West Yorkshire.
Patrick Gallagher, chief executive of CitySprint said: “With the addition of this great business, we are strengthening our presence in the Leeds area as well as continuing to build on our national reach.”
Phil Bridge, owner and managing director of UK Express, added: “We are really excited about working with CitySprint and the added benefits this will bring to our customers and the local area and we will be working closely together to ensure a seamless transition process. For the time being though, it is ‘business as usual’, with the same team and contact number in place.”
Thriving CitySprint has 37 service centres across the UK, a network of more than 2,500 couriers and handles 5 million same day deliveries each year. It also has dedicated retail and healthcare divisions.
