New appointments at Grant Thornton

BUSINESS and financial advisers Grant Thornton has appointed a former young accountant of the year to its corporate finance team in Leeds.
Vicky Wilson won the title in 2008 and has joined Grant Thornton’s transaction advisory services team from the firm’s audit division. Her colleague Claire Elcock won the award in 2007.
She is one of five new appointments with Alice Harvey joining from Deloitte and Kate Lawenson, Payam Keyghobadi and Scott Brady making the permanent switch from the tax, government and infrastructure advisory and audit department.
Will Oxley, partner in Grant Thornton’s TAS team, said: “The skills the new recruits bring to the team will be invaluable as the market evolves.
“Our strength of client base and reputation has allowed us to keep our team together during a difficult period, and now we can look to grow.
“To know that we can find excellent recruits both internally and externally means we can have the best team possible for the upcoming months as the market changes.
“And to have two young accountants of the year in our team gives us an extra edge.”
