Healthcare franchise creates jobs

MORE than 200 jobs are to created in Yorkshire following the launch of a venture to provide nursing and home care services across the region.

Care provider Prestige Nursing is setting up the new service to help meet growing demand for health workers and services in West and South Yorkshire.

Prestige Nursing has more than 60 years experience of providing care and support for people in the comfort and security of their own homes and is one of the UK’s leading providers of homecare services.

In addition it provides a range of healthcare staffing services to organisations such as hospitals, care homes, prisons and industry.

Michael Dooley, who is setting up the franchise for Prestige Nursing, said: “This new service will help meet the growing demand for nursing and home care services in West and South Yorkshire.

“In particular, with the introduction of individual care budgets it will ensure that older people or people with a disability can receive high quality round the clock care and companionship in their own homes.

“We are currently recruiting suitably experienced and qualified staff and we anticipate creating 200 new positions within the next 12 months.”

Based in Northgate, Wakefield, the company will be serving Castleford, Dewsbury, Pontefract, Wakefield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley and will be recruiting staff in all those areas.

Mr Dooley added: ”The demand for healthcare services is growing and our services will help ensure that people in West and South Yorkshire will have access to the care they need  from personal care to nursing care.”
