New name for IP law firm as partner steps down

INTELLECTUAL property specialists Kempner Robinson is changing its name as founding partner Andy Robinson steps down.

Mr Robinson set up the firm with Jason Dainty, Stuart Jackson and Richard Kempner, former head of Addleshaw Goddard’s intellectual property group, last year.

He is now stepping down as a partner but will continue to work with the firm, now known as Kempner & Partners, as a consultant.

Mr Robinson said: “As a specialist IP law firm we have seen massive growth in our first year but I now think it’s time for me to step back from the business and to concentrate on what I enjoy doing best which is supporting my loyal client base.

“While I will no longer have any direct role in the future strategy of Kempner & Partners I will continue to work with the team as we deliver the best possible advice on intellectual property law.”

The Leeds-based firm specialises in intellectual property including patents, trade marks, copyright and designs and has clients including Centrica, Asda and BASF.

Mr Kempner said: “During our first 12 months we have doubled in size in terms of personnel as well as in the level of
business we are attracting as a specialist intellectual property law firm. We expect that growth to continue over the next 12 months.”

Kempner & Partners has recruited Martin Delafaille, also from Addleshaw Goddard, who is one of only a small number of dual-qualified trade mark attorneys and solicitors in the UK.
