Advanced Acutators achieves significant growth

ADVANCED Actuators said it is undergoing a “significant” growth period after announcing that it has already secured 80% of last year’s turnover, just one month into its new financial year.
The Silsden-based company, which is a supplier of actuators (a type of motor), control solutions and hydraulic components, has reported a 40% increase in turnover for 2013 at £3m but said sales have reached £2.4m in October 2013 – the first month of the business’s financial year. The West Yorkshire firm said over 50% of its current business is secured through export.

Managing director, Chris Woodhead, has also revealed expansion plans and has announced two appointments. Lee Ellerton has been promoted to engineering director and Graham Coulton has taken on the role of production director.
Woodhead said: “Lee and Graham’s new positions brings an increased responsibility for all contracts from order placement to product dispatch alongside the launch of new product ranges and the development of our onsite facilities.
“Their strategic involvement with the business means I can take on a greater role expanding the Advanced Actuators portfolio in the Middle East and the Far East which is where we anticipate a further 20% growth in 2014.
“While our 2012-13 financial year was exceptional, we have secured 80% of last year’s turnover just one month into our new financial year.
“This is a significant growth period for Advanced Actuators and we anticipate further job creations at home and overseas, in the coming months.”
