Small-Bet strikes deals to take it global

YORKSHIRE software developer Small-Bet has struck deals in the US and China that it says will introduce its real money gaming platform to a global market.
Small-Bet launched its cash wagering development kit in the UK earlier this year to enable games designers to add in-game skill based wagering to new and existing products.
A tie-up with Texas-based Snakehead Software represents the company’s first moves into North America and will also enable its software to be used on more platforms, including android.
Small-bet was launched last year by a consortium of businessmen and has since appointed former News International chief technology officer Xenophin Lategan as its chief operating officer.
Neil Spence, managing director of Small-Bet, said: “Until now, the Small-Bet SDK has only been available on iOS but SnakeHead Software is developing a plugin that will bring our real-money, peer-to-peer challenge facility to other platforms.”
Using Corona Enterprise, SnakeHead Software is developing a plugin to bring real-money, peer-to-peer challenge capabilities to an estimated 300,000 games developers through Corona in the US.
In China Small-Bet has teamed up with a digital media insider in Chengdu to introduce its platform to tech hubs in the country.
Matt Vegh is part of the Sichuan National Promotion Base for the Game and Animation Industries, a government entity responsible for overseeing hundreds of game, app development and animation companies in Western China. He said Chengdu and Chinese game and app development companies were already making significant inroads into both the iOS and Android markets.
The partnership will see Small-Bet integrated into China-based global social media platform CloudTime, which Vegh estimates will bring early stage revenues in excess of $1m.
