Endless door firm in administration

A DOOR manufacturer has called in the administrators less than a year after it was bought by turnaround experts, Endless.
STP Group, which is based in New Mills in north Derbyshire and makes timber doors and stairs, was acquired by Leeds-based Endless last November for £6.4m, and the group was looking forward to a bright future.
But administrators from the Manchester office of Ernst & Young have now been appointed, and in a statement said they are continuing to trade the company while they assess the situation.
STP is one of the UK’s biggest timber door manufacturers and employs 170 people at sites in New Mills, Leeds, Bristol and Wakefield.
Last year’s buyout, which was led by the Manchester office of Endless, was the second one in six years for the group. In 2001 STP managing director Rob Cohen led a £15m management buyout.
