Scottish champions sign with TWL

THE Weather Lottery has expanded its new online betting and lottery services into the Scottish Premier League after signing a new contract with champions Rangers.

Rangers is the most high profile of a string of football club partners to sign up with Doncaster-based TWL as it establishes its new FCBetz and FCLotto brands.

In a stock market update, TWL said it expected its football contracts would “drive future revenues” alongside its established lottery business.

TWL chairman Lord Razzall said: “We are very excited by this contract with Rangers. They hold an important position as a revered sporting institution both nationally and internationally. 

“They are one of the two giants of Scottish football and their importance extends well beyond Scotland. They are regular participants in the ‘blue-ribbon’ event of European football, the Champions League.”

Rangers are the sixth football club to sign deals with TWL which has launched its new products to coincide with the start of the new football season.
 
TWL chief executive Keith Millhench said: “The combined FCBetz.com and fclotto.co.uk products market partners’ fan clubs, season ticket holders of Coventry City, Derby County, Leicester City, Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and now Rangers, plus their databases and gives The Weather Lottery exposure to a significant potential user base.
 
“The board believes that this further expansion will create additional revenues for the Company. negotiations are continuing with several other major football clubs and other societies.”
