International expansion suits Berwin & Berwin

SUIT supplier and manufacturer Berwin & Berwin has signed a deal with a Vietnamese business which will enable it to increase production by more than 20%.

Leeds-headquartered Berwin & Berwin has secured the deal with textiles business VITC, which will provide a new supply arm to the firm, which already makes suits in Hungary and China. Berwin & Berwin also has offices in London and Munich.

Berwin & Berwin managing director, Simon Berwin, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to supply tailoring from another country and offer great value and quality to our customers. There have been suit producers in Vietnam for some time but this will be the first vertical operation and the first aimed at the medium to better end retailers.”

Berwin & Berwin is a fourth generation business which has been operating for almost 130 years. It is a significant supplier to the UK high street and supplies several international markets including Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, and Russia. Brands run by the business include Berwin & Berwin, Hechter, Lambretta, Paul Costelloe and Baumler.

The business currently has turnover of £65m in the UK with 650 staff across Europe.
