Coffee company takes on the world

A MOBILE coffee company is taking on the global market as demand for its services rockets.

The Barista, headquartered in Leeds, was launched in 2011 by entrepreneurs Matthew Carr and Sam Fletcher after they graduated from university.

The growing firm has seen turnover climb by more than 500% and expects to see sales reach more than £260,000 in its latest financial results. The business also says it has boosted operating profits by more than 450% since its launch.

The business takes its coffee company to corporate events and private functions across the UK and now, into Europe.

It has already done business in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Geneva, Dusseldorf and Stockholm and is hoping to tap into more global opportunities.

Co-founder, Matthew Carr, said: “This is a new market for us and we aim to push on the European sales, while still growing our market share in the UK. We hope Europe will become a really big market for us.”

Clients include Apple, Skype, Inenco, NPower, Roche, Hays Recruitment, Reckitt Benckiser, Dell and Scottish Widows. The Barista employs around 20 staff, but as the business expands, expects to grow this team.
