Buy-in broadcast from E to E

A YORKSHIRE company which specialises in installing broadcast facilities in vehicles for customers including the BBC has undergone a management buy-in.
E to E, based in Pudsey, integrates and installs mobile and fixed broadcast production and editing facilities for domestic and overseas markets, supplying major terrestrial, satellite and cable broadcasters.
The new management team is headed by Richard Hurd, managing director, and Rob Budding, operations director.
Chris Warden, one of the founders, and former managing director, will still have an active role in the company as sales director, and will continue to contribute to its development.
The deal – for an undisclosed sum – will see the new management team build upon the success of the business which has customers including the BBC, Arena and Arqiva.
Mr Hurd managed the broadcast services division for VT Communications, previously known as Merlin Communications.
Mr Budding is a former BBC engineer, and has been working with a coach building company as the technical director.
Kevin Cawood, also previously at VT Communications, is joining the team as a non executive director.
Mr Hurd, said: “It is such an exciting time for the whole company. We have in place an energetic, dynamic and highly experienced team with lots of exciting plans. Our recent announcement of expanding sided vehicles is just one example of new developments we are working on.”
The transaction was advised by Margaret Ferris and James Turner, of PKF Corporate Finance, based in Queen Street, Leeds.
Banking was provided by Phil Dawson, senior commercial manager, from HSBC Commercial, in Leeds, and Peter Kay, from Ware and Kay LLP in York, advised the team on legal matters.
