Former SIG CEO joins Horbury

THE former chief executive of SIG, Europe’s biggest insulation group, has become a non-executive director at Horbury Group.
David Williams will take on a strategic and advisory position with the Rotherham-based construction and property group, which is made up of nine subsidiary companies recording a combined annual turnover of £65m.
Mr Williams, from Wickersley in Rotherham, worked at SIG for 24 years including 14 on the board of directors and six-years as chief executive before he retired in June 2008.
Trevor Wragg, managing director at Horbury Group, said: “David has a very strong track record of successful development of business both in the UK and overseas. I am delighted to welcome him to the Horbury Group at a very dynamic phase in the company’s development and look forward to tapping into his experience and insight to help to influence key decisions for the future growth of the company.”
The Horbury Group of companies has recently expanded with the acquisition of Croft Electrical Engineering, increasing its ability to provide a range of sub-contract work on large projects and helping to reduce logistical problems for main contractors.
Mr Williams said: “I have great admiration for Horbury Group and the excellent management team. The company has done extremely well in a very competitive industry. I look forward to assisting Trevor Wragg and his team in mapping out the future growth strategy of the company.”
