Housing market set to rise – Hollinrake
HUNTERS director Kevin Hollinrake believes conditions could be set to improve in the residential market.

HUNTERS director Kevin Hollinrake believes conditions could be set to improve in the residential market.

Mr Hollinrake made the claim as the estate agents’ York office reported a 71% increase in sales over the last five weeks compares to the same period last year.

Mr Hollinrake said: “We do not believe that this is just a flash in the pan. We are certainly seeing more activity from canny investors and a greater willingness from sellers to be realistic about the prices they are likely to achieve.

“We are applying the same principles that delivered huge success for us when we opened our first office in 1992 – in the depths of the last housing market slowdown.

“There are some excellent bargains to be had for any buyer who is in a position to move. The key thing is pricing your home so that it looks like a bargain – you may have to take a drop on your price but you will more than make up for that on the one you want to buy.”
