Bondholders launch 10th Humber Business Week

THE Bondholders marketing organisation, which promotes the Humber, launched the 10th Humber Business Week yesterday with a special Humber edition of television’s Through The Keyhole.

Alan Johnson MP acquired the keys of three businesses and, with the help of “business detective” David Burns, of BBC Radio Humberside, the Bondholders took a peek behind the closed doors of business premises across the Humber, with a guest panel of business leaders trying to identify which businesses they belong to.

Opening the event, attended by 360 business leaders from across the Humber, Bondholders Chair Peter Aarosin said: “From small beginnings, Humber Business Week is now in its 10th year and is packed with events and activities. Once again we will see the strength of the Humber’s energy and enterprise expressed in Business Week.

“It’s a tremendous showcase for the region’s vibrant business community. It has grown year on year and its sheer scale and variety testifies to the extraordinary depth, breadth and excellence of businesses around the Humber.

“This year’s Humber Business Week comes at a time when positive change in the Humber is gathering momentum at a pace never before seen in the region.”

The companies featured in Through The Keyhole were Neill & Brown Global Logistics, which is currently engaged in a £2.5m investment in a 40,000sq ft warehouse at Marfleet Environmental Technology Park; Singleton Birch, which has been quarrying Lincolnshire chalk since the 1850s; and Hull Truck Theatre.
