Legal Appointments: HLW expands team; Insolvency specialist joins Watson Burton

A round-up of appointments within the Yorkshire legal sector.
LEEDS firm hlw McCombie Commercial Lawyers is continuing to expand with the appointment of a new solicitor.
Jennie Blagg joins from Clarion Solicitors, in her first role as a qualified solicitor.
A graduate of The University of Hull, she will work alongside recent recruit Jo Smith and joint managing partner David Guest in the insolvency team.
Since graduating, she has spent fifteen months as a paralegal in the insolvency team at McCormicks Solicitors, before completing her training contract at Clarion’s where she worked in the corporate, commercial litigation and commercial property departments.
David Guest, joint managing partner of hlw McCombie, added: “We’re delighted that we have attracted Jennie to join the team at this crucial time for business recovery.”
Since opening in 2006 the Leeds office of hlw commercial lawyers has more than tripled in size and in June 2008 merged with McCombie & Co.

THE insolvency team at the Leeds office of commercial law firm Watson Burton LLP has been strengthened by the appointment of associate James Atkinson.
Mr Atkinson has practiced as a corporate recovery and insolvency lawyer for 16 years acting mainly for insolvency practitioners advising on matters ranging from bankruptcy and liquidation to complex trading administrations and substantial insolvency litigation and investigations.
He has also advised on refinancing and restructuring solutions for businesses in all sectors.
He said: “I am excited to be joining the highly respected insolvency team at Watson Burton and look forward to working for such a forward thinking law firm.”
