Caravan manufacturer ramps up production

CARAVAN manufacturer Victory Leisure Homes is launching a second production line at its Gilberdyke factory to meet a rising demand for lodges.

The move, which will create 10 new jobs, frees up the firm’s primary production facility allowing it to ramp up manufacture of holiday homes.

To accommodate the growth, the company is also creating a new showground at its Broad Lane base to showcase its growing product range.

The showground will be open all year round and is aimed at trade customers who want to view lodges and holiday homes outside the show season.

Victory Leisure Homes’ managing director, Peter Nevitt, said the company’s expansion was being driven by rising across-the-board demand in both domestic and export markets.

He said: “As we have expanded our lodge range to encompass a variety of models, sales have been building well with a lot of demand coming from holiday parks across the country.

“We have now got to the point where we are working at capacity in the factory, and to service those extra sales we now need to create a whole new production line specifically for lodges, which will in turn free up capacity for us to make more holiday homes.

“Thankfully, when we moved to the Gilberdyke factory in 2012 we did so knowing we would expand so we built that into our plans. Our intention has always been to create a production line specifically for lodges and with sales growing as they are, now is the time.”
