Fazenda picks site for third restaurant

FAZENDA, the South American dining concept with restaurants in Leeds and Liverpool has picked Manchester’s Spinningfields for it’s third site.
Opening in October, Fazenda’s parent company, City District Group is investing £2m in the 1,800 sq ft restaurant, which will be located in two converted units on The Avenue – the area originally planned for retail – in the business district.
The launch will create 62 jobs. The restaurant will be able to seat 178 covers and an outdoor area can accommodate a further 50 diners to enjoy its freshly-grilled joints of meats, ‘churrascaria’-style carved from joints at the table.
Fazenda offers 15 different cuts of beef, chicken, lamb and pork, while a bountiful salad bar caters for all diners, with options including sushi, smoked salmon, cured meats, hot dishes and traditional Brazilian dishes.
A bar area will have 44 covers and three private dining rooms with a total of 38 covers.
General manager Tomas Maunier, an Argentine overseeing the Manchester launch, says: “At Fazenda we are keeping the tradition of the Gaucho alive, slowly grilling large pieces of meat in the way it has been done for centuries.
“With our authentic South American background, we offer a unique Gaucho-style dining experience at the highest level. We are confident of repeating our success in other Northern cities when we launch in Manchester.”
