THE Pavilion, one of Morley’s most iconic buildings is set to embark on a new chapter in its colourful history after a decision by the current owners to dispose of it.

According to the Leeds office of chartered surveyors Eddisons, which is handling the disposal, there has already been significant interest in the landmark building.

The building on South Queen Street was originally constructed in the early 20th Century as a popular theatre/cinema.

In more recent times it has been Puccino’s, a 260 cover restaurant with additional coffee bar, dance floor and stage. Prior to that it was the famous Afterdark Club – home of the famous Orbit club night.

John McNeill of Eddisons said it was rare for buildings such as the Pavilion to become available.

“The Pavilion is an exceptional building which is steeped in history and benefits from a prominent location. Morley is both close to the M62 motorway and has direct rail links to Leeds City Centre making it easily accessible for many people.”

The accommodation is available either on a freehold or leasehold basis as a whole and has a total floor area of 14,430sq ft.

It provides a part three/part six storey series of buildings with an additional single storey extension.
