In Brief: SIG; SYHA Enterprises; Adwick Leisure Centre; MKM; The Laser Cutting Co

BUILDING products group SIG has acquired Sodimat SAS, a specialist distributor of flat roofing products in France, for €4.4m in cash.
For the financial year ended December 2013 Lyon-based Sodimat SAS made a pre-tax profit of €0.55m and gross assets were €1.4m.
This acquisition is in line with Sheffield-based SIG’s strategy of expanding its French roofing business, Lariviere, in the South of France, and strengthening its offering in flat roofing, which SIG said it believes to be an attractive segment of the market.
Sodimat SAS is being sold by the Sitbon family, who founded the business.

THE Laser Cutting Co has invested almost £1m in new machinery.
The Sheffield-based business said the investment will provide customers with greater production security and also cost-effective manufacture of complex tube components. The new machine has been brought in to replace a dated and less efficient laser and will complement the three existing tube lasers and two flatbed lasers already on-site.
