Lifestyle latest: Bonding Warehouse; Caffè Nero; Lambert’s Yard

THE luxurious Bonding Warehouse development in York is 75% sold before completion.
Three of the four luxury apartments that make up the riverside development have been snapped up, including the city’s first £1m penthouse.
The launch of Grantside’s Bonding Warehouse development of four luxurious riverside apartments was met with huge interest when it was unveiled in March this year.
Steve Davis of Grantside said: “We saw ourselves as custodians of a York landmark, and we’re really proud that we have been able to give the building a new lease of life. The mix of residential living space with quality offices will also enable more employment in the heart of the city.”
Grantside has also created 11,700 sq ft of new office units on the ground and first floors of the Bonding Warehouse and has relocated its own offices to occupy 2,500 sq ft of the new space.

EUROPEAN coffee company Caffè Nero has completed a ten-year lease agreement with Town Centre Securities and will be opening its first Merrion Centre store on Sunday, recruiting 10 full time barista roles.
Occupying around 1,100 sq ft, this will be the sixth store for the coffee specialists in Leeds, adding to its growing Yorkshire portfolio of more than 30 stores.
Guy Mauduit, property consultant for Caffè Nero, said: “This store is a really exciting opening for us with a very prominent street level location on the corner of one of the Merrion Centre’s busiest entrances. The landlord has invested in this site and the evolving Arena Quarter increases the attractiveness of our location. We trade very well in Leeds; it’s a bustling city with a growing number of coffee connoisseurs and we’re confident our new store will attract a lot of customers.”

A NEW fashion and design space is being launched in Leeds aimed at revitalising the regional fashion, manufacturing and textile industries.
Lambert’s Yard is now closed for the fit out of the permanent store and event space, which aims to showcase the best of the UK’s independent fashion and design scene and bring industry leaders to the city through a series of talks, workshops, fashion shows, special events and live performances. The launch will take place in autumn with a ten-day festival, showcasing the best in design-led products and collections across the store alongside a series of fashion and design events.
Lambert’s Yard made fashion history last month by becoming one of the first places outside of London to host a Centre of Fashion Enterprise (CFE) event. This pioneering fashion business incubator, based at the London College of Fashion, aims to support fledgling fashion businesses in their first years. It does so by helping them understand their USP and vision, to be better informed and follow a considered development strategy.
