New contracts clear path for IT firm to boost business

IT FIRM Razorblue has secured contracts worth more than £2m, which is allowing it to create new jobs and rapidly expand its business.

The company has doubled its office space in Leeds, having moved out of the city centre to  Airport West Business Park in Yeadon, close to Leeds Bradford Airport. Razorblue also has offices at Colburn Business Park in Catterick, North Yorkshire, offices in Newcastle and York and has plans to open in Teesside.

The new work includes a contract with Furlong Flooring in Dublin, to provide bespoke software development and outsourced IT services to its European operation, as well as a range of IT services to Sports Direct.

Razorblue has recruited five new members of staff, now employing a team of 30, with plans to add another five before the end of the year.

In the last year, Razorblue has invested more than £100,000 in its network to provide faster connectivity for its clients, which include SMEs, public sector organisations and large enterprises.

Dan Kitchen established Razorblue in 2006 and is the company’s technical director.

He said: “We’re growing faster than we anticipated which is thanks to the fantastic, multi-skilled team we have and the sophisticated technology that we have invested in and developed. It’s an exciting time as we take on new staff, expand our premises and work with more and more Europe-wide organisations and we’re looking forward to our Leeds expansion as it’s such a thriving region.”

Chris Gill, commercial director of Razorblue, added: “In the last year we have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds in our business and that has not only allowed us to grow, but has led to us securing some major contracts. As a result, we’re creating jobs for both sales and technical experts from across Yorkshire as we constantly work to further enhance our services.”
