PR, Marketing and HR Appointments: Marketing professor for Leeds and more

A round-up of the region’s appointments within the PR, Marketing and HR sector.
BLUE CROCODILE, the north’s leading sports agency, has appointed Danny Reuben as its first head of media.
Mr Reuben, who hails from Leeds, joins Blue Crocodile having spent six years as head of media at Barclays Premier League outfit Bolton Wanderers.
More recently, he has worked with a number of high-profile clients including former Bolton Wanderers’ and Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce developing Allardyce’s media profile and punditry work over the summer and throughout the latest football campaign.
Commenting on the appointment, managing partner of Blue Crocodile, Richard Blakey, said: “We are delighted to make the appointment of Danny Reuben as head of media. Danny brings a wealth of experience from the professional sports sector and understands what we are trying to achieve at Blue Crocodile. Having spent all his career in the sports industry, Danny is well respected on the media circuit and has the ability to articulate our plans through effective and creative media relations and PR campaigns.”
Blue Crocodile was set-up by former Yorkshire and England cricketer Richard Blakey, who joined forces with Tony Stanton, founder and chief executive of Leeds based marketing agency, An Agency Called England.
The agency combines managing sports stars and events while also developing commercial opportunities for sporting teams and venues.

LEEDS University Business School has appointed Matthew Robson as Professor of Marketing.
He joins Leeds University Business School from Cardiff Business School where he was a specialist in international management and marketing.
Professor Robson, a graduate from the University of Swansea and Concordia University, Montreal, is on the editorial team of several journals dedicated to marketing research.
His research interests include international collaborative strategies as well as the role of social and structural processes within relationship management and marketing.
Dean of Leeds University Business School, Professor Peter Moizer said: “Matthew Robson joins Leeds University Business School at an exciting time in the school’s development as it moves to further engage with commercial business. At the same time LUBS is committed to the best quality research and I am sure Matthew will make a major contribution in this area.”
