Funding helps manufacturer embark on expansion plans

MANUFACTURING business Summerbridge Doors is planning to double the size of its factory and create new jobs.

Summerbridge Doors, established in 1986, is based in Anlaby, East Yorkshire. The company designs and manufactures MDF vinyl wrap doors and accessories for kitchens, bedroom and bathrooms, working across the leisure, contract and retail sectors.

The firm, which employs 102 staff and expects to see turnover exceed £9m this year, has gained funding from Barclays to enable it to embark on its £3.5m expansion plans.The expansion will double the size of the current site from 50,000 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft and it will create 30 new jobs.

Steve Waite of Summerbridge Doors said: “The transfer to Barclays and the facilities they have made available will enable us to expand the factory and increase production. We’ll be able to bring the carcass manufacturing in-house with the additional space and we’re delighted that Barclays has been able to assist with the new funding and secure our growth plans.”
