City Briefs: Redhall; Fenner

REDHALL Group, the specialist engineering support services business, announced this morning that Martyn Everett has been appointed as a non-executive director.

Everett is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has experience both as an executive and non-executive director across a number of sectors including engineering, retail and media. He has particularly strong expertise in the turnaround and restructuring of both public and private businesses.

Paul Kirk, who has been a non-executive director since January 2007, will retire from the board. Following his retirement Kirk will be appointed as chairman of the remuneration committee and will be a member of the audit and nominations committees.

MANUFACTURING group Fenner, today said its balance sheet remains strong and it anticipates its results for the year end will be in line with expectations.

In a statement, the group, based in East Yorkshire, said it has continued to re-align and restructure its activities to suit the local market conditions in each of the various regions where it operates.

Fenner said it expects to incur an exceptional charge in the second half of its financial year and net debt at the end of August was approximately £120m, compared to £121m last year.
