Law firm to double office space in Leeds

LAW firm Mills & Reeve has revealed it is to double the size of its Leeds office at 1 City Square as it looks to boost its presence in the Yorkshire legal market.

Mills & Reeve has taken 6,500 sq ft in 1 City Square after agreeing a ten-year lease. The move, which is scheduled to take place on December 22, will see the firm relocate from its serviced offices in the same building and double its existing space.

The firm recently announced it is committed to making senior lateral hires in the areas of corporate, commercial, employment, construction and commercial disputes in a move that will increase the number of partners from four to between ten and 15 in the Leeds office.
.
Philip Way, who heads up the Leeds office, said: “The new office reflects Mills & Reeve’s growth over recent years and ambitions to expand further in the city.

“We looked at a number of different properties and felt that 1 City Square, which is an iconic building in an excellent location, fitted our requirements perfectly and we look forward to moving to our own premises in December.”

Mills & Reeve also has offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Manchester and Norwich. In its 2013/14 results turnover reached a record £80m – an increase of 13% from last year.

The Leeds office was formed in 2008 when family partners Philip Way and David Salter, together with their five-strong team, transferred from Addleshaw Goddard to Mills & Reeve.

The Leeds office of Savills acted as agent.
