THE Leeds office of law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed Jenny Arrowsmith to its employment team.
Joining the firm as an associate from Taylor & Emmet in Sheffield where she was a partner, Arrowsmith will be based in Leeds but will initially also spend time in the firm’s Sheffield office supporting the team there.
She has been a specialist employment lawyer for 12 years and advises on the full spectrum of operational and strategic employment law issues. She has particular experience of dealing with issues relating to discrimination, complex or sensitive disciplinary and grievances, performance management and organisational change including redundancies, changing terms and conditions of employment and TUPE.
She has advised employers of all sizes including those operating in the charity, logistics, retail, media, health and care sectors. Her clients have included Centrica, Hermes, Next and Asda.

DOW Schofield Watts, the specialist professional advisory and equity finance firm with offices in Yorkshire, has continued its expansion plans with the appointment of Rob McCarthy as a partner to its transaction services team.
McCarthy will lead the provision of financial due diligence services in the Yorkshire & North East region working closely with the corporate finance team on acquisitions, business sales, financing raising and buy-outs.
He is the latest in a line of high calibre specialists to join the firm. Over the course of the last two years the DSW Group has grown from 28 to 38 across its corporate finance, due diligence, forensic accounting and business recovery disciplines.
McCarthy joins after spending a number years in North America, where he continued to build a successful career as an M&A adviser with KPMG and latterly working in a senior finance role with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
Prior to relocating to North America, he was a well-respected figure within the North of England investment community, providing professional services for over a decade with KPMG, where he undertook a leadership role in the transaction services practice.

THREE trainee solicitors at Leeds law firm Clarion have been given permanent positions as associates with the firm following their qualification.
Florence Hiskey, Jemma Green and Sarah Harrison successfully completed their two year training contract with Clarion during which time they gained experience in at least four departments.
Hiskey, now part of Clarion’s commercial team, graduated from University of Sheffield with Law and French LLB and then attended College of Law, York, where she completed a Legal Practice Course (LPC) before spending two years as a paralegal and then joining Clarion.
Green, now in IP, read English Language at University of Leeds and completed her LPC at BPP Leeds Law School. Harrison has become an associate in corporate having graduated with a Degree in Maths and Philosophy from University of Leeds and an MA in Philosophy; she spent a year as a caseworker for the Legal Services Commission before completing her LPC at BPP Law School Leeds.
In addition, paralegal Sarah Berry has recently completed her exams and now holds the position of legal executive in the private client team.
