Appointments: Excello Law; Hart Shaw; Langleys

EXCELLO Law has added corporate heavyweight David Bowden from Lupton Fawcett Denison Till to its growing team. 

Bowden brings 24 years of commercial property experience acting for some of the UK’s leading retailers. At Excello he will continue to work for clients including Laura Ashley, Austin Reed, CC and Viyella.

He qualified first as a barrister, before pursuing a career in international finance in the Philippines, Hong Kong, New York and London. David then re-qualified as a solicitor and worked for a number of leading UK law firms, including Eversheds building up a specialist practice working for retailers, pubs and restaurants.

HART Shaw Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers has appointed Patrick Abel as corporate finance partner.

He began his career in the steel industry before working in private equity. He has 20 years corporate finance experience, 11 of those as a partner with a national firm based in the city.

Sheffield-based Hart Shaw’s corporate finance department offers a complete range of strategic services to local businesses and recent months have seen an upturn in the number of transactions taking place, prompting the decision to expand the department.

THE corporate team at Langleys Solicitors has boosted its ranks with the appointment of solicitor Andrew Gawley.

Gawley joins the York firm after completing his training contract with Watson Burton in Newcastle.
