Esh Group wins £1.6m contract to upgrade M1

A DIVISION of construction company Esh Group has landed a £1.6m contract to upgrade the M1 around junction 44.
Lumsden and Carroll procured the work through Yorcivils, a Highways Agency sponsored project to improve both safety and traffic flow in the area.
The work, for Leeds City Council, will widen approaches to a roundabout, provide a cut through between the A639 Stourton and A639 Rothwell and improve traffic signals.
It will be completed by March 2015.
David Pratt, construction director at Lumsden and Carroll said: “These works will help to improve traffic flow in one of the busiest areas of the M1.
“The works will be completed to an exacting deadline, in a very busy area.”
Esh Construction provides civil engineering projects to clients in the public and private sector.
