Office party hopes for Leeds filmmaker

AS jostling for this year’s Christmas number one gets underway Headingley-based music promo company Poison Pen Films is helping Leeds punk band International Trust get their Christmas single to the acclaimed number one spot.
The company – a spin-out from advertising specialists Mezzo Films – has filmed a music video to “Let’s Have a Dance”, which raises a glass to the highs and lows of office parties.
Its director Paul Morricone said that the single, which is due to be released on Decmber 1, is a fun-fuelled song.
“The video marries with the song by showing a typical party in full-swing and all the jinks and excess that the party-goers get up to,” he added.
“We wanted to create a video that jolted the audience but was familiarly funny too.”
Over the coming weeks, International Trust, who all feature in the video, are aiming to rally as many people into buying their single as possible in a bid to beat the X-Factor winner to the coveted number one position.
Founded two years ago, Poison Pen Films has quickly earned a reputation for directing visually captivating videos. A recent video for London rock band Fightstar reached
number one in the MTV2 MySpace Viewers Chart.
The video for “The English Way'” sees the band thrash their way through red, white and blue rooms, which each sum up nuggets of stereotypical English life.
