Carter Jonas acquires Planning Perspectives

NATIONAL property consultancy Carter Jonas is expanding its national planning service by acquiring Planning Perspectives and its public sector consultancy business Strategic Perspectives.
Carter Jonas – which has offices in York, Harrogate, Boroughbridge and Leeds – will see its London planning and development team increase in size to 33 people as a result.
The acquisition of the planning practice will be effective from December 11 after which Planning Perspectives will trade as Carter Jonas.
Over the past five years, Carter Jonas’ turnover has increased from £19m to £45m.
The firm’s national service is provided through a network of 32 offices across England and Wales with planning and development teams operating from dedicated offices in London, Oxford, Cambridge, Harrogate and Leeds.
It now has some 75 chartered planners and surveyors, making it one of the largest teams in the UK.
David Boulton, head of the Northern planning team at Carter Jonas, said: “Planning Perspectives brings to our firm an excellent reputation and significant experience in the planning industry.
“They share our ambitious and client-focused approach and this acquisition is very much in line with our national growth strategy and vision: to create a consistently high quality, national service – driven by a strong London presence and an expanding network of regional hub offices.
“The acquisition reinforces our national planning service, broadening our client base and strengthening the calibre and breadth of planning services we provide to clients.
“It gives us a truly national planning perspective on the development industry to help clients achieve their aspirations.”
