North Yorkshire caravan park snapped up by entrepreneur

ONE of North Yorkshire’s largest caravan parks has been sold in a multi-million pound deal.

The 90-acre Lido Leisure Park deal was struck when the park’s owners decided to retire from the business after 75 years.

The business has now been bought by Frank Maguire, an entrepreneur who operates several other caravan parks in the North of England.

Edwards and Partners, a specialist division of chartered surveyors and property consultants Sanderson Weatherall completed the sale.

William Reynolds, director at Edwards and Partners, said: “There was a great deal of interest in this site thanks to its excellent position and high commercial value.  As specialists in this field we were ideally placed to identify parties for whom the business would be of interest and secure the deal, which was achieved by way of a sale of shares in a company.”

The purchaser plans to further invest in the park to create a 5 star holiday park with leisure facilities.

Lido Leisure Park is located in a riverside setting within the Nidd Gorge on the outskirts of Knaresborough.  The caravan park is able to accommodate over 600 caravans.
