Former colleagues launch law firm
AN ALL-FEMALE law firm has launched in Leeds.
Consilia Legal is a team of four Leeds-based solicitors – Marie Walsh, Sally Clark, Laura Clapton and Caroline Acton – who had all previously worked together.
Clapton said the ethos at Consilia Legal is simple. “We work with our clients to achieve their goals,” she said. “Consilia means working together in Latin and it was important to us to have a name that represents who we are and our relationships with our clients.”
The team at Consilia Legal specialise in family law, employment law and mediation. Walsh and Acton are the firm’s specialist employment law and HR advisers. Clark and Clapton provide specialist family law advice and are accredited family mediators, helping parties to resolve family related issues outside the Court arena. Clark is also a trained work place mediator, family mediation supervisor and a direct child consultant.
Acton said: “Going forward, we aim to continue to build upon our existing client relationships and develop new ones particularly with working professionals and SMEs.”
“We are aiming to become the law firm of choice for our down to earth, human approach and tailor made advice,” added Clark.
Walsh said: “The team’s principal aim is to provide practical legal advice to suit the individual and commercial needs of our clients in a timely and efficient manner.”
