Corporate community to raise a glass – and funds for charity – at beer festival

THE corporate community will raise a glass to charity fundraising at the Ilkley Beer Festival next week.

The annual event, which last year raised more than £43,000 for local good causes, takes place on February 6 and 7.

The Friday afternoon corporate session is fully booked with 500 people from across Yorkshire’s business community attending to do their bit for the region’s food and drink sector. There are then three public sessions over the weekend to sample more than 100 beers and ciders, including some of the best from Yorkshire’s brewers, and test the festival’s 18,000-pint capacity.

Martin Fisher, spokesperson for festival organisers Ilkley Round Table, said: “In 2014 the charity event raised £43,000 for local good causes and we hope to match this figure this year.  We are continually humbled by the support of the dozens of businesses throughout the region who year on year help support this event through their sponsorship. This year we’d like to extend our special thanks to IMI Insurance Brokers, our 2015 Gold Sponsor.”

It takes place at the King’s Hall in Ilkley and more information can be found at http://www.ilkleybeerfestival.org.uk
