GBUK’s growth continues warehouse launch

A FAST growing life sciences company is continuing its expansion with the launch of a major warehouse facility.

GBUK, based in North Duffield, welcomed Selby MP Nigel Adams to open its state-of-the-art 22,000sq m stock holding facility, which it says is symbolic of the company’s rapid growth in recent years.

Mr Adams had previously opened the company’s purpose built environmentally friendly HQ in 2013.

The new warehouse will have a dramatic effect on the company’s ability to service more suppliers, develop more products and stock more product lines – each day more than 149,000 GBUK products are used to care for patients in the UK.

This expansion will not only allow the company to expand its distribution and manufacturing capabilities, but also its development of export opportunities.

Mr Adams said: “I’m delighted to open this brand new warehouse for GBUK – a rapidly growing business, brilliant people and a great success story for the region. I wish the company all the best for the future.”

Mark Thompson, GBUK’s CEO, said: “We would like to thank Mr Adams for opening our new facility, which I think represents what the entire sector should be aiming for – exceptional delivery of healthcare technology products for the benefit of patient care alongside investment in the local economy and jobs market. The company now employs over 56 people, an expansion of over 15 staff in the last 24 months.”
