Rugby kit sponsorship for sports equipment supplier
SPORTS equipment and supplies firm XBlades has signed a deal with Gloucester Rugby to become the team’s new kit supplier for the 2015-16 season onwards.
The deal will see the South Yorkshire company design and manufacture Gloucester Rugby with all of its home, change and European playing kits.
Shane Miller, managing director of XBlades, and one part of a trio of owners including ex rugby league player and coach Tony Miller and rugby legend Jason Robinson said:
“Although XBlades was established over 25 years ago in Australia, we only launched in the UK just over three years ago and, at that point in time, we could never have imagined the success we would be celebrating today!
“Landing the Gloucester contract is amazing as we can now add Gloucester Rugby to our impressive list of partner clubs, which includes Cronulla Sharks, Parramatta Eels, Castleford Tigers and Featherstone Rovers.
“It’s a very exciting time for XBlades and we are very much looking forward to working with the fantastic team at Gloucester Rugby – it really is a very well oiled machine.”
Gloucester Rugby chief executive, Stephen Vaughan, added: “It’s a new look Gloucester Rugby in more ways than one over the next few months and we’re delighted to welcome XBlades on board.
“They’ve already proved to be an excellent partner to work with, having supplied playing kit for our Wheelchair Rugby team and also the Gloucester-Hartpury Ladies side.
“Our playing department have been very much involved in the design process of the playing and training gear for next season and they’ve been delighted with the quality of kit and the approach that XBlades have had to providing cutting edge performance wear.
“I’m also very confident that our supporters are going to love the new look playing kits. We’ve consulted with supporter groups over the potential designs and I think we’re going to have the most popular kits for many a year.”
Gloucester announced a new main partner last week in Mitsubishi Motors UK.
