Leeds leisure group opens second Manchester hotel

LEEDS hotel group Roomzzz Aparthotel is to open its second Manchester property as part of a £30m leisure development programme.

The hotel will be alongside 13 new independent restaurants and four retained eateries at the Corn Exchange in the city.

It is expected to open in early 2016 and is a key part of the redevelopment of the Grade II-listed building which developers hope will be Manchester’s primary dining destination.

Roomzzz Aparthotel will consist of 114 apartments ranging from ultra-21 sq m pods to large penthouses.

The development programme is being led and backed by Aviva Investors and Queensberry Real Estate.

Mark Walton, head of Roomzzz Aparthotel UK, said: “The demand in the city for Roomzzz Aparthotel is substantial – we are running at 100% occupancy week on week, a second location in close proximity is a strategic game-changer for the brand.

“Our ability to operate multiple sites in the same city is tried, tested and proven in Leeds.

“Consumer requests for more Roomzzz illustrates the fact that the Aparthotel is an increasingly popular choice for booking accommodation in major UK cities.”
