Appointments: Shulmans, Wrigleys, Able UK

CORPORATE law firm Shulmans has promoted three associates to partner level.

Mark Wilkinson, head of Insolvency and credit management services, joined Shulmans two and a half years ago having previously worked at Lee & Priestley and Lupton Fawcett.

Dawn Carlisle, a commercial property solicitor, joined the Real Estate team in 2011 from Gordons. She is part of Shulmans’ international team and secpialises in mixed-use developments, retail and industrial parks and solar oanel developments.

Head of the Intellectual Property team, Rob Lucas, joined the firm in 2008 and is ranked on the Legal 500 list for his work in the field. He has worked internationally for Shulmans in Brazil, Canada, USA, India and Europe.

Tim Halstead, managing partner at Shulmans, said: “Our recent breaking through the £10million turnover barrier could not have been achieved without the talented people that make Shulmans an award-winning firm.

“In the past five years we’ve created 65 new jobs, attracted a high calibre of recruits from outside the firm, and also promoted from within.

Wrigleys appointmentsLegal firm Wrigleys has hired Laura Moss to its charity team and Alexandra Hempsey to its commercial and education property teams.

Ms Moss previously worked at Trowers & Hamlin specialising in housing and charity law and Ms Hempsey joins from Eversheds

Ms Moss said: “Wrigleys are peerless in the North for charity law so it was a great opportunity to join a large team covering such a diverse range of work for charities and social enterprise.”

Able UK has appointed two new members of the team as it steps up major projects on the Tees and the Humber. 

Chris Mackinlay has been hired as group marketing and development executiv, following eight years as studio manager with Darlington-based Printwell.

Department administrator Debbie Fell has been appointed after a time at Sedgefield.

Able group development manager David Shepherd said: “These new appointments underline our ambitious programme now moving ahead on a number of fronts-including, of course, the Able Marine Energy Project which is set to become a major catalyst for establishing the Humber as a centre of excellence for the renewable energy industries.

“With our newly-strengthened team we aim to provide a first-class service to our existing and future clients across all parts of our operations.”

Able Humber Port, which encompasses the Able Marine Energy Park, covers around 2,000 acres of river frontage land on the South Humber Bank with planned developments that will service the offshore wind, logistics and port sectors.
