Harrogate offices sold in £3.5m deal

PROPERTY developer Wilton Developments has sold two office buildings in Harrogate worth a collective £3.5m.
Mitre House was sold to a private investor for £1.3m, and is fully let by Saffrey Champness and Jarvis Law. It was previously Wilton’s base before it moved its headquarters to Leeds in 2010.
The 11,272 sq ft Town Centre House on Cheltenham Parade was sold to Bramhope Property and Investments for £2.2m.
The ground floor houses Thai restaurant Sukothai and Le Bistro Pierre, who collectively occupy 75% of the property. There is also 4,000 sq ft of commercial space on the top floor, let separately.
Jason Stowe from Wilton Developments said: “We have seen increasing demand in the regional commercial market in recent months.
“As our buildings were both fully let it was a prime time to sell and, in turn, we are seeking new property opportunities to recycle these receipts into.”
Mike Curtis from Mike Curtis & Co acted on behalf of Wilton Developments in securing the sale. Hesaid: As an historic and affluent spa town, Harrogate has always proved attractive to the private investors.
“The strong sale price for Town Centre House also takes account of the absence of any national multiple covenants in the tenant line-up”
