Software firm wins £1m of rail contracts

SOFTWARE firm 3Squared has won £1m worth of contracts from the rail industry.

The firm’s RailSmart software products were in high demand, and is designed to deliver time and efficiency improvements.

3Squared, which has offices in London and headquarters at the Fountain Precinct in Sheffield, specialises in software for the rail and construction industries.

Founded in 2003, the firm has clients including Unilever, Network Rail, BAE Systems and Sir Robert McAlpine.

Commercial director at 3Squared James Fox, said: “There is huge scope for digitisation in the rail sector, so it is no surprise that the new RailSmart products have been so well received.

“Train operators are recognising the inefficiencies of paper-based systems and are actively seeking an alternative.

“Our RailSmart suite of products provides a solution to any rail operating company looking for time and efficiency benefits, as well as cost savings through the use of Apps that allow for the management of a wide range of functions.”

RailSmart EDS is a web and mobile app that allows better communication between employees and manage the skills of their staff, with the aim of reducing administration and reduce incidents, as well as tools to improve efficiency and reporting, and digitise the distribution of documents.
