Appointments: Dow Schofield Watts, Lloyds Bank Commercial, Trinity Leeds

ADVISORY and equity finance firm Dow Schofield Watts has boosted its VAT services division, after appointing partner Jacki Wells to its Yorkshire and North East office.

Ms Wells joins DWS from Ernst & Young, heading up their Leeds tax office, and has worked at HM Revenue & Customs in Hull previously.

Glenn Bemmet of LloydsLloyds Bank Commercial Banking has hired Glenn Bemmet as mid markets area director for North, East and West Yorkshire, replacing Steve Harris, who has been appointed as the bank’s managing director in the North of England.

Mr Bemmet previously spent two years with the bank in Merseyside, and will now cover an area which includes clients such as listed firms Persimmon, Cranswick and Fenner, with 24 employees.

He has worked in banking for more than 15 years, and has held several other senior positions with Lloyds Bank and previously with HSBC.

Mr Bemment said: “Yorkshire is home to some of the UK’s most successful businesses which have been at the forefront of the economic recovery.

David Maddison of Leeds TrinityTrinity Leeds has appointed a general manager to oversee the city centre shopping destination.

David Maddison joined property firm Land Securities after working in other shopping centres and as a development manager for Nike in Europe.

He is relocating from Kent and said: “Trinity Leeds has very much been on my radar for the past couple of years having followed its success story since launch, so I am very proud to be joining such a prestigious location.

“Leeds is such a vibrant and exciting city and together with the great team I’ll be working with I’m very excited about my new role.”

Trinity has around 120 shops, bars and a cinema, Everyman.
