Awards: The PA Hub, Haines Watts
THE inaugural Yorkshire PA Awards will showcase the business support and administration sector this July 2.
The awards are set to be held at The Pavilion at Leeds United with judges including Jamila Juma-Waré of global training provider Pitman Training; and PA to Jacqueline Gold, CEO of Ann Summers, Katie McEwan.
Marion Lowrence, director of the PA Hub – the organiser behind The Yorkshire PA Awards said: “This is really a massive turning point for PAs across Yorkshire, who normally have to travel to London for training and development opportunities.
“It is fantastic that we now have the support of well-known PAs and advocates for the industry such as Katy McEwan, but also the support of local businesses and specialists in the field – such as Pitman Training.
“There are so many instances where PAs really do act as pillars for the businesses they work for, working round the clock to not only provide support but more often than not, carry out essential projects that are not really defined as their ‘role’, yet they are often overlooked when it comes to career development, training and recognition.
“These awards really seek to highlight the importance of the PA role within businesses, whilst giving PAs the confidence to take their career further.”

Haines Watts has won Accountancy Firm of the Year (larger clients) at the annual FD Excellence Awards 2015.
Now in their eleventh year, the awards were held at London’s Grosvenor Square, hosted by Real Business and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, supported by the CBI.
