Work piling up for paper firm acquired by family-owned firm

PAPER products firm Disposables UK has been acquired by family-owned Northwood Paper Sales, a tissue and hygiene products group.
Disposables UK, a Metham-based firm which has 85 employees based near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, manufactures paper, disposables and dispensers as well as hygiene products in the UK and abroad.
The deal was for an undisclosed sum.
David Burkill, managing director of Disposables UK said: “This is a very exciting and positive move for Disposables UK and is the next stage in our development. In Northwood we have found a buyer that suits our business, with whom we already have a strong relationship and who are a family-run business with a similar approach.”
Chairman of Northwood, Paul Fecher said: “The activities of Disposables UK and Northwood Hygiene Products are complementary to each other and enhance the coverage of the whole AfH product range available to the market from the new unified supply source.
“With our converting factories in Penygroes, Telford and Meltham, and out Tissue Mills in Disley and Lancaster, as well as our joint venture integrated consumer Tissue Mill and converting plant in Bridgend we have a superb fit for the requirements of the market.”
David Burkill and Paul Halliwell, the management team at Disposables UK has joined as part of the new company.
