Manufacturer’s investments pay off with major new build contracts

MANUFACTURER Building Product Solutions has had a very successful year after new contract wins increased turnover.

Revenues at the Goldthorpe-based firm increased from £2.2m to £3.5m for the 2014/15 year.

The firm has been investing heavily in becoming a supplier to the new build market, winning contracts with York housebuilder Persimmon, as well as builders Taylor Wimpey, Larkfleet, Harron Homes and Gleeson.

Building Product Solutions’ now has an £11m order book, and staff numbers have risen to 50 from 33 people.

Lynne Darwin, sales director for the firm who was also named Barnsley and Rotherham’s first female Business Person of the Year, said: “The growth of the business reflects the investment and effort which has been made during the last year.

“This pace is set to continue over the next twelve months as the construction industry flourishes.

“We currently have around £11 million in the order book, which will mean further recruitment and the expansion of the team.

“With further investment in our premises, machinery, processes and people we are looking at a very exciting year ahead.”
